Dominant species of the planet Ankeros. Made up of four primary races: the malens, epions, pelosye, and amalgans.
Planet of origin for all Ankerans. The planet comprises a complex branching network of harmothyst crystals channeling Vitae energy produced within the core to the surface.
Race of Ankerans genetically created during the Last War by Metalink scientists hoping to bring an end to the conflict. They are a hybrid race, containing genetic traits from all three Ankeran races—malen magestones, epion intellect, and pelosye wings. They are often treated as a sub-race by others.
Malens who serve as both soldier to the kingdom and clergy to the Church of Vitae.

Race of people known for their strong intellect and thirst for knowledge. They are mostly atheist/agnostic, praising science as the basis for all life. Harness the power of Vitae energy into technology.
Epion proprietary technology. The implants are used to provide epions with enhanced vision, including greater visual acuity and Metalink access for instant data analysis, displayed before their eyes.
Technology reserved for use only by epions. Even non-epion citizens of the Epion Republic are not permitted to acquire any proprietary tech.
Democratic nation founded by epions. The nation is the most tolerant of non-epions. The people are referred to as Republic citizens, regardless of race. Current President is Peli Eruhodd.
A crystal, similar in look and feel to quartz, which possesses the ability to store and channel Vitae energy. Malen magestones are comprised of the crystal, and all Vitae-based technology utilizes its properties. Trace amounts of the crystal can be found within all Ankeran lifeforms.

The last war fought between the Ankeran races, named to assure such a devastating conflict never happens again.
Levitation-based motor vehicle used for long-distance travel and couriering supplies which cannot be shipped easily via devport. Sometimes used locally as a sign of wealth, when using a devport would be quicker and cheaper.

Race of people known for the harmothyst gem protruding from their foreheads known as magestones. Malens possess the ability to use Vitae energy to manipulate matter in what they believe to be mystical powers gifted to them by the Vitae. These abilities form the basis for their religion, the Church of Vitae.
Intelligence and Security Service for the Kingdom of Malenor and federal law enforcement agency.
Kingdom founded by the malen race. Current Monarch is King Merrisole. Subjects of the kingdom are called Malenorans, regardless of race.
Network of interplanetary communication hubs, which serves as the primary means of data sharing between Ankeros and various colonies. Owned and operated by the Metalink Corporation.
Various access points to the Metalink network include personal handheld devices, virtual displays, large screens, and holography.
Owners and operators of the Metalink. The business runs primarily from its space station centered between Ankeros and all colonized planets for maximum transmission. It operates independently and politically neutral from the other nations and colonies.
Primary hub for the Metalink. The station composes one hundred city-sized levels. Often serving as neutral ground for international and intercolonial negotiations.
Race of people known for their wings. The two upper-wings (forewings) are longer than the two lower-wings (hindwings). Their wings comprise flexible brims holding together transparent flaps, similar to insects.
Autocratic State controlled by the pelosye and led by First General Jokran Hirkain. Citizens, regardless of race, are known as Pelosians.
Teleporting from one location to another via either a devport or through malen/amalgan magestone abilities.
Members of a given race who feel theirs is superior to the other races. The colony worlds of New Didrasyl and Midrusk are purist. Other races aren’t welcome.
When the leading monarch dies, the next in line for the throne becomes King or Queen Ascendant until their coronation.
Personal servants to members of the Malenoran royal family. They are typically selected and raised together as close personal friends with their charge.

A form of energy that reacts with matter, capable of manipulating it at the atomic level. Both malen magestones and many epion technologies harness this energy to perform telekinesis, teleportation, and other abilities. Legends surround malen archmages of the past who have achieved other powers not seen in the modern age.
Medical injection of a water-based solution of powdered harmothyst crystal highly charged with Vitae energy. It is used primarily for malens or amalgans suffering from Vitae Resistance Syndrome and sometimes to enhance healthy malens’ abilities for a limited time. They can also be used as a limited power source for portable Vitae-based technology when none is available in the surrounding environment.
Engine utilizing Vitae energy to create a bubble of closed-space capable of faster-than-light travel.
Generates Vitae energy from matter sources. Serves as a large-scale means of generating energy when not enough can be absorbed from the background environment. Required for space travel.
Covers the magestone and cannot be removed without another unrepressed magestone or specialized Vitae-based technology device. The covering represses all abilities of the magestone.
Secret diplomat for each country, large organization, and colony. They seek each other out and sometimes swap key intelligence with each other to prevent large scale disasters. Most operate without their leader’s direct knowledge.
Pelosian small attack aircraft capable of complex maneuvers in both air and space environments. They do not have enough power to escape from a planet’s atmosphere and must be ferried by a larger vessel.
